Prof. Dr. Klaus Fichter is founder and director of the Borderstep Institute for Innovation and Sustainability based in Berlin. As a professor, he teaches at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and holds the full professorship for Innovation Management and Sustainability. In the Department of Economics and Law, he is in charge of the study focus Eco-Entrepreneurship and the part-time Master’s programme Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. He is also a mentor for founders at the University of Oldenburg’s Founder and Innovation Centre and in EXIST support programmes. Professor Fichter is on the board of the Förderkreis Gründungsforschung, the largest network of start-up and innovation researchers in German, and heads the Sustainable Entrepreneurship working group. He is the initiator of numerous projects and alliances to strengthen sustainability-oriented entrepreneurship and is, among other things, jury chairman of the StartGreen Award.
